Very peaceful and made a relaxing holiday. A good base for us to visit family in the area.
Not a lot for the kids to do, but, they didn't express this, however, they said a water slide would have made their holiday better.Review Cottage Aubeterre*** 2 bedrooms

David - Londonfamily with child(ren) From 07/08/2017 to 18/08/2017General review : "Gorges du Chambon "
Views; quiet site with friendly visitors; clean facilities; most reception and shop staff friendly, helpful, polite and professional.
Dining options limited and food quality of a very mediocre standard. Table service unacceptably slow (nearly 1 hour for starter, almost 2 hrs for main course). Attitude of some male members of staff to issues raised was complacent and, in one case, rude and sarcastic.Review Package ** 130m²
View from tent. Toilet and washing facilities good, kept clean. Campsite layout generally very appealing.
Our pitch was directly below a very old and large oak tree which had many over-long branches extending right over the pitch where we had to place our tent. In an area prone to frequent thunderstorms this is potentially very dangerous: a) lightning strikes to the tree would affect the area all around the pitch. b) High winds would create large risk of very big branches falling onto the tent pitch. Both could be catastrophic for anyone pitched under the tree.Detailed markView detailsGeneral information3Accommodation10Region8Cleanliness7Comfort4Quality-price ratio3Reception7Services & amenities2Activities6Catering1Activities for kids8Eco-friendly6

Rebecca - Meonstokefamily with child(ren) From 05/08/2017 to 17/08/2017General review : "Fabulous place, beautiful location "
The location of our premium pitch (no 61) was perfect. It was level and spacious and we loved the luxury of the gazebo, fridge, table and chairs etc. Well worth the extra.
The toilet blocks could do with an upgrade. The showers were hot though and toilets always clean.Picture(s) taken by Rebecca - Meonstoke See photo galleryReview Package ****
An amazing facility. When it rained we had somewhere to sit that wasn't in the tent. It really made camping feel more luxurious. Loved having a tap on the pitch too.

Derek - Bristolfamily with child(ren) From 12/08/2017 to 13/08/2017General review : "Nice site but poor restaurant service"
Location and general layout of site.
Restaurant service was very, very slow and it felt as though there was no real care fr the customers. While drinks came quite quickly, it took a while for someone to take our food order and then we waited well over an hour for it to arrive: This is not complicated food so I have no idea what the problem could have been. Also, the waiting staff seemed very busy but there were also restaurant staff - male - who simply seemed to stand around while others worked. Basically we really like the location of the campsite and the general facilties but the waiting in the restaurant spoils it.Review Package ** 130m²

RICHARD - farehamfamily with teenager(s) From 22/07/2017 to 31/07/2017General review : "great pitch"
Reception were very helpful. The area is beautiful and we saw lots of wildlife in the campsite and along the river.
The toilet and shower area could have been cleaned more often. There were also some washing up sinks with no plugs in them. Also better toilet paper please!!Review Package ****
The beautiful large pitch was superb. There was loads of space and it was quiet.
I think the grass should be cut every time between new campers pitching up as the grass was fairly long by the end of our holiday.Detailed markView detailsGeneral information10Accommodation10Region10Cleanliness6Comfort9Quality-price ratio10Reception10Services & amenities8Activities9Catering8Eco-friendly10
