I booked on-line and paid £30 only to arrive and be told on arrival that we had not booked electric. I really felt that this had been orchestrated as they had already taken my money. As we were staying only one night, I declined the electric! We were put in a tent pitch which was okay. The toilets are old, but clean. We didn’t use the shower as we had an early crossing the next morning! On reflection, I wished we stayed on the aire in Watten that we’d stayed on which again had no electric but which was free and very pleasant, when we arrived in France.

Large, well maintained and clean location Great facilities and a good bar/restaurant. Welcoming staff. Most of the grass pitches have grid reinforcement so no chance of getting stuck on wet grass .

A return after 10 years and all is still very good at Chateau du Gandspette. From making our reservation, answering queries, adding an extra night and arranging for our pet visit to the vets, all before we arrived, Julien was very helpful which gave us peace of mind for the end of our holiday. A smooth check in, great pitch, good facilities and excellent meal in the restaurant . A perfect stop for the final 3 days to our holiday.

Please be aware that you can find a supermarket 1.5km from the campsite open 7d∕7. We were a group of 4 motorhomes. The host gave us a few option of pitches and we settled for 4 together against the Chateau garden wall and they were perfect .

This is an excellent site. A very attractive setting with woodland areas. The camp is spacious and well set out. All the staff are lovely and friendly but a special mention must go to Julie’s who is always so pleasant, courteous and helpful. The swimming pools are lovely. The sanitary facilities are always clean and well maintained. The campsite is well situated for ferries and the tunnel, and close to a very good supermarket. The Blockhouse about a mile away is well worth a visit. A 10 minute drive brings you to the village of Watten with amenities,

It’s just a great site, great welcome, good facilities. Excellent location for Le shuttle when travelling to and from the UK. About 30 mins away!
A little heat in the shower area at the beginning of the season as it was freezing! But if that’s all the have to complain about I’ve got a sad life!

Lovely mature site, friendly team, really well maintained , good pitches and location fab so close to Calais we visited here first time 22 years ago camping with children and family group - back now as 60 year olds in our camper van and as nice as ever
Stoppers in the sinks -( must get myself one - realise remove flooding - alone gaps at the pitches to be changed to screw fittings so can use to attach a hose for filling. Water tank would be good also - overall Would change little - as nice as ever
