Camping La Chatonnière

The facilities were excellent and the welcome very warm

This is the best site I have stayed at. The facilities are so good and very clean. The pitches are large and well looked after. The children’s playground is like no other I’ve seen - just wonderful! Huge chess game for outside, trampoline, outdoor gym equipment and more boxed games than I’ve seen in a shop for rainy days. Located within walking distance to a small but lovely village with a bakery, butchers, restaurants and a chateau that is open to the public.

It is impossible to improve this site - it is absolutely excellent!

Everything about this campsite is wonderful Lydie and Bruno the owners, go out of their way to ensure that your stay is fantastic. Everything is so clean and so well organised. The heated shower block is great and all facilities are to hand. Reception is great too and provides everything you might need. Attractive campsite with walks along the river.Many thanks to Bruno for helping us get off the pitch after the torrential rain that we had for 2.5 days!

Maybe water at the pitch side for a motorhome, but it wasn't really a problem

This is a lovely ,lovely campsite, we were on a terrace above the river, the reception is great as are the owners. Bread and croissants available every day. The toilets and showers were really, really good and everything wes so clean. Clearly the campsite owners want to offer the best possible experience for their guests and they most definitely achieved this aim. I cannot speak too highly of this campsite the best one of our 6 week trip. We would definitely return to this camp site. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious and the river burst it's banks quite spectacularly.

Stayed because of a wedding nearby at the Chateau d'Oche. They were very accommodating to a big group of excited British people! Daily baguette order was great and staff very kind.

Amazing little campsite with clean and good facilities and super friendly staff

Simple and Beautiful or simply beautiful. A lovely campsite, no amenities needed other than what is there. Pitches great size, well defined. Whole site very well looked after and very clean and tidy. The owners extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. If your looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful area then would highly recommend this site

Very well maintained small family campsite. Spacious campplaces, campground next to small river. Option to make a campfire. Many books and games available free of charge. All facilities clean and well maintained.

A brilliant campsite stayed 2 days and on the first day my wife fell during a walk in the Forrest and badly sprained her ankle. The lady who operates the campsite could not have been more concerned and was so helpful supplying my wife with crutches and an offer to take her to the local hospital. We were so grateful. The campsite itself was very clean and well maintained only the persistent rain was a blemish on our stay. We will hopefully return in the future and enjoy the facilities provided. Again thank you for your kindness during our stay.

Only improvement during our stay would be the weather however,that would be down to the weather gods.

Friendly staff, Very clean facilities, well maintained. We were so happy staying at this wonderful campsite, it was quiet and we were able to select our own pitch. Fresh bread available daily great location for visiting small surrounding villages with a car. We will definitely return!

We had a great stay, beautiful pitch looking out at the river. Lovely lady at the reception, fresh croissants in the morning. Even workout equipment for the grown ups to play. We loved it.

We have stayed here over the last 15 years, the fact we return when we can despite the distance says it all!

Good sized pitches but wish I’d thought more about the thick canopy of trees which the sun or even sky couldn’t penetrate. My fault though. Loved the issuing of compost box and recycling tub on arrival.

The ‘river beach’ was deep mud in places. My dog got filthy. Photos look better than reality.

Nothing, it was perfect

The site was quiet and we could sit watching the river from our pitch. The pitches are marked with hedges. The facilities are clean. We were able to get walking and cycling maps which made our stay perfect and had pizza one night too. Thank you.

Some showers were warmer than others. The showers in the largest top block were quite cool and there wasn't much light here. We soon got to know the showers that were best!

L'accueil chaleureux, disponible et bienveillant, le calme, la nature exubérante, les beaux espaces, une rivière vivante, des jeux, des livres. Même les bungalows semblent joyeux d'être aussi bien tenus. Tout est très bien entretenu pour y passer un très bon séjour.
