We love this site and, thankfully, it's consistently really good so we always look forward to staying there. It has the best disabled shower out of any campsites that we have ever stayed on!
We love this pitch, right next to the Loire - quiet, spacious, full of birdsong, watching birds nesting too and only a short walk from the amenities on the site and very close to the village shops etc.

This site is excellent. On the outskirts of Saumur beside the river. We had a pitch with private facilities which was excellent. Ate twice at the on site restaurant which was very good , value for money and good food and excellent drinks list. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Would have no hesitation recommending this site..

Beautiful surroundings, nice village, fantastic street art Park 800 m away. The site is very beautiful, the people at reception very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities are good and clean. Good looking restaurant, we didn’t go there as we cook ourselves. We had planned to stay for two nights, we stayed four nights!
Longer intervals at the shower! I couldn’t complete a whole song, just a few bars at a time:-)

Regarding the temperature inside the private facilities, we would like to clarify that these units are not equipped with heating. We are sorry if this affected your comfort during your stay, especially with the cooler weather at the beginning of the season.

The welcome was very good, with Estelle the manager remembering me from my stay last year. Good food in the bar in the evening, handy to have a small restaurant on site.

The site was very clean and well maintained. We also liked being so close to the village and many options for scenic walks and outings. Staff were very friendly.
As we were there early in the season the pool and restaurant weren’t open which we hadn’t realised until we arrived.
Great size pitch. River was beautiful.
Path between the site and the river meant a constant flow of folk passing by. We had to put up a windbreak to deter our dogs announcing each person. I didn’t realise this when booking.

The site is situated on the river with lovely views especially riverside pitches. Large, level pitches with easy access to the town. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

The main sanitary block is scheduled for a full renovation for the 2026 season. As for the birds, that’s one of the little “charms” of being in a natural riverside setting surrounded by trees and wildlife. We understand it can be inconvenient at times and we do our best to maintain the site as clean as possible. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again on the Loire.

We love it here and have been many times, it never fails to please. Immaculate site, full of mature trees, good sized pitches (ours right next to the Loire), with great facilities - spotless shower block/loos with nearby composting and waste facilities, laundry, wifi, chickens and herbs!, great nearby local shops, very interesting place and handy for big towns like Saumur and Chinon.

The bar and restaurant area was very pleasant. Staff were very helpful.
Our emplacement was poor and dark, heavily tree covered, with a little view of the river, despite having paid extra for a riverside pitch.
The pitch was a good size.
The ‘edge of the Loire’ designation for our pitch whilst factually true, we could see little of the river due to the trees. Very disappointing.

As mentioned during your stay, we offered the possibility to change pitches, but riverside options were fully booked and, given the size of your caravan, choices were limited. You chose to remain on your pitch.

The campsite was very peaceful and tidy. The staff were very friendly and we ate in the Restaurant and the food was good. The Abbey and the village square is only a few minutes walk away with a market on Sunday. Next time we visit we will also be making a trip to Saumur, which is around 13 miles away.

Position of the site is wonderful - on the river, within a few steps of the village centre, with good cycling available from site, and within easy reach of many interesting attractions. Staff courteous and friendly.
The condition of the pitch surface was terrible, and although 'grand comfort' there was no water tap and drainage for the caravan (we asked to move pitches). The chemical emptying point had an awkward arrangement with some hose from a tap outside it, and not really long enough for purpose (a tap and hose within the emptying enclosure would help! ) The communal facilities were adequate, but desperately need updating.

We just wanted to clarify that you had booked a pitch with private sanitary facilities, which includes a shower, toilets, and two sinks inside. For this reason, there is no direct water connection on the pitch itself, as everything is already provided in the private unit. We also take note of your comments regarding the chemical emptying point, and we’re pleased to let you know that the communal sanitary blocks will be fully renovated for the 2026 season.

A wonderful time on the banks of the river, walking distance to the local town. Friendly staff and a clean site. Private bathrooms are cracking 👌
Pitch was a bit on the smaller size, there were much larger pitches around. However, having the private package it was worth it. The shower was amazing, the sink in the bathroom a little small, so we used the sink in kitchen area. We didn't use the fridge has we kept everything in our motorhome fridge. Overall well worth the extra cost. Would do it again.
