Evaluations that are not older than three years and have undergone a verification process. More infoGreat welcome and friendly staff - if all you need is a single night stop over close to an autoroute then don’t discount this site - just have low expectations if you have stayed at other sites in the Les Castles network.
This site really has seen better days and needs significant investment to bring it up to a standard where €48 per night is charged for a pitch that was supposed to have water and drainage - which it didn’t. It’s such a shame as we guess that the grounds of the Chateaux and the campsite were once amazing.
Lots of space meant that we could keep our trailer hooked up to the motorhome - which for an overnight stop is really helpful The site is really peaceful so sleep was amazing.
Only one shower with warm water, pool needed to be cleaned as lots of flys on the surface. Some showers not working and although clean, the toilets could really do with spiders webs moving more than once a year.

Two night stopover at this lovely chateau. Owner very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Swimming pool area ideal for relaxing.
Great pitch in view of chateau and lovely gardens. Will definitely return when on the same route through France

We love this site. It is quite rustic, so if you prefer modern facilities this may not be the site for you. Having said that, the showers have good pressure and are hot. It is quiet and calm and each plot is under trees. If you are lucky you will see reindeer near the castle which is also lovely to look at. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the pool is great on hot days. We were a little disappointed that the restaurant is no longer open but there are plenty of shops and places to eat off site. We plan to go back in the future.
I love it there as it is, but updating the facilities and opening the restaurant again would be great.
The pitch was great. Plenty of shade on really hot days and big with plenty of room for out Motorhome, a car, car trailer and a large day tent.

Convenient for the autoroute.
The bar closed at 6.30, the pool shut at 6pm and the restaurant is permanently closed so there is nowhere to be in the evening. The gates shut at 7pm so no possibility of going offsite either. All this needs to change to be a 4 star site as advertised. When we stayed, hoping for a luxury one night stop over there was nothing. The pool was also closed on Saturday morning till 2pm so we didn’t get a swim at all. The shower block is very tired and not very clean. One shower I tried was cold, the r next was flooded and the third was scalding hot. Come on Castel. This is appalling!
Shady and flat.
Some litter on other pitches not picked up.

Lovely setting. Beautiful chateau. Lovely big pitches. Was offered sun or shade and chose shade as it was hot. Lovely wood and trees to park beneath. Delightful owner. Always on hand to help. Very charming.
Toilet/shower block could do with an upgrade and separate men’s and women’s toilets. Sadly restaurant was closed but I understand the difficulty in getting staff. Perhaps it could be rented out and run independently?
Excellent pitch. Lots of space
All good.

Only a over night stop but probably won’t go back again
Everything shut including gates at 6.45 and no bar or shop open could be a beautiful site

Nice pitch
Stayed for 2 days because advertised was fishing but when we arrived no fishing was allowed so bit disappointing as it hasn’t been removed from the website for a while

Serviced pitch
Only use this site as a stopover if desperate! Gates are locked at 7 in the evening until 9am. There is no restaurant or bar. The pool has limited opening times. The pitches are soggy as the trees haven’t been cut back so no sunlight cant filter through. The serviced pitches arent, simply blocks of taps and waste and not all are turned on so check before you pitch up. No English spoken. Probably good years ago but certainly not now. I thought Castels sites were supposed to be a good standard?

Great sized pitch in the grounds of this wonderful chateau, we was greeted by a wonderful gentleman with a great sense of humour.
For us none just keep doing what you do
There was ample pitches to choose from and we stayed in our campervan

By lovely old chateau. I saw a deer family in the chateau grounds. Nice pool and bar, very reasonably priced. The pitches are good sized. It rained when we were there so we got a bit muddy.
Not within easy walking distance of anywhere.
Pitches are fine. Lots of shade.

A charming stay with numerous other guests talking about how they had come 30 years ago . Beautiful pool makes you feel like you are living in your own chateau. Mystery walk to lake and mill house like something out of famous five. On site restaurant run by two French ladies was popular.
Not close enough to anywhere to visit without a car.,
Beautiful , spacious, next to the hedge where on the other side is the chateau
No where to cycle too except Limoge.

Spectacular scenery, quiet, tranquil site, fantastic service from owner & staff, pitch sizes, great balance of shade from sunshine and blue skies, superb location.
Pool opening times limited (11:00 - 18:30) early morning & early evening swim would have been great but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment.
Spacious with privacy & shading from hot sunshine

We were very disappointed by the restaurant as the menu and standard of food was poor and let down the whole experience. For our stay. The reception was very good and helpful but the bar and restaurant was very lacking
Showers were clean but tired in decor. Unhappy about the bar shutting at 7pm. It felt like the service had been cut down to the minimum. Which is a shame because the site and the setting was beautiful
The pitches were large and shady
Nothing wrong with the pitch

Beautiful large pitch in a superb parkland setting. Peaceful, shade and sun. Able to walk round château grounds which are extremely well kept.
Toilets. Dated amenities and facilities and too rarely clean enough. No information at reception re bread, or map of grounds. Restaurant basic and very pricy. Ordered food grad for starter then salad gourmands which was topped with an exact replica of what I’d just had.
Excellent. Flat. Large. Shade and sun.
Aged water taps.

We travelled here via a visit to Limoges, a quiet and peaceful place with lovely surroundings
Thought the WiFi and washing machine charges were expensive
Good size pitch with good shade
No where to empty grey water from Motorhome unless manually emptied into a container

Nice setting in grounds of château, site needs attention to detail and housekeeping. Restaurant ok if a little overpriced but acceptable. Check in a little problematic over pricing.
Check in issues
Quiet site , good sized pitch but was only 10% site occupancy so may be a little tight if full.
But if Ann issue with owner on check in re pricing but ‘eventually’ sorted out and refund given.
