Camping Les Marmottes

Vriendelijk ontvangst, mooie plaats met uitzicht op de Mont Blanc, mooie omgeving en goed sanitair wat dagelijks grondig werd schoongemaakt.

Friendly owner, clean site and beautiful views. What else do you need at the bottom of Mont Blanc?! Toilets and facilities are cleaned daily. We got free tickets for unlimited journeys by train to Chamonix. Our car battery went flat and the owner even had a clamp to start it up. Thank you very much for that and really sorry for waking you up. We will be back!

From the welcome to the amazing views we loved every minute of our stay, in this small understated campsites which delivered everything we needed. Yves is a great host and the simple clean facilities were spot on. So close to the cycle path for easy access into Chamonix too, or free on the train with the visitor pass issued on arrival. Highly recommend this site.

Nice campsite well spaced out, with great view of the mountains. The free rain card really helps with getting around we used it many times and road the whole route it allowed. Plus friendly staff that could speak good English and happy to help.

It would have been nice to have the food hut open one night

This easy to get on with site could not be better placed, at the foot of the Aguile de Midi and just below Mont Blanc, with close up stunning views to the mountain range. Free train in to Chamonix and beyond at any time you need it, what’s not to like.

No camping car service point makes it a bit awkward to fill and empty water.

Great stay - Catherine and Yves were very helpful and accommodating especially with late unforeseen amendments to our trip. There was a different pop up food caterer each night which was very handy when arriving back to the pitch later than expected. The site is perfectly positioned for amazing views and transport links (particularly by train) into Chamonix (in the centre in under 10 minutes if I remember) I'd definitely recommend.

The weather was good all week. Stunning views from the campsite. Very useful pass for free train travel. Very helpful proprietor with good sense of humour.

Amazing location, beautiful views, friendly staff

The views were stunning. If walking into Chamonix or Les Houches it takes 60mins. Got a free train ticket which was a bonus and train stop 5 min walk away. Clean campsite.

The views, peaceful and quiet,

Possibly when they clean toilet areas, allow guests to use showers at the back where there are only about 4, whilst the main area is cleaned, that way you can still shower

We had some issues travelling down from Switzerland and the campsite employees were very very helpful and accommodating. The view is amazing and it is very well located.

Location was great, views were magnificent. Close to the station and it was free to travel. Highly recommend the gorge, free train and a 15 min walk. Differen choice of food to purchase every night. Site lovely and clean. Will be back again for sure.

The site has stunning scenery and well placed to get the train into Chamonix and along to the Lac d’Emosson. Staff were friendly and helpful. I’d most certainly stay there again.

Stay during UTMB race

Our 2nd stay at this campsite and it didn’t disappoint. The location of this campsite is fabulous. Amazing views of the mountains and 5 minutes walk from the train ( free ticket from campsite) which takes you into Chamonix and beyond. A great place to stay if you want to explore the surrounding area. The baker who comes to the campsite daily for breakfast pastries and bread is an added bonus and he’s always so cheerful

Toilet seats and closing the whole shower and toilet block for 2 hours is a bit of a pain. Cleaning sections at a time would be better in case you need the loo!!!!

The staff ja super Nice . The camping area was as described. It is quite at night. You get a bakery truck in the morning and a food truck for dinner. The facilities are clean and are cleaned once a day. I would love to come again!
