The location, quiet and peaceful
Pool area in need of a little TLC and the showers could do with updating.
Big pitch, nice bar. Helpful and friendly staff.
Not a dislike, more suggestion for general improvement to the pool and showers.

Fantastic clean and well kept campsite. Very friendly owners and staff. We loved to see the chickens running around free! We stayed in a chalet which was basic but comfortable. So much to see and do in surrounding areas including Belgium. Lovely terrace to sit and have a drink whilst watching the children play.
Pools were not heated. Bar doesn't open until 3 so no nice coffees or drinks during the day.
Clean and comfortable
No oven

Nice site within easy reach of Le Shuttle This is a well laid out site with good pitches. Very clean all around the site. Lovely warm, chatty, welcome from the gentleman in reception. It has a good bar on site and plenty of things to do for children. Toilets are good and were clean.
Nice spacious plot
There are lots of brits on stopovers…..be prepared for noise from 5:30 AM with ignorant door bangers as some prepare to leave (not the sites fault). One even ran their engine for 15+ mins at 6:00AM whilst hitching up with headlights full on our pitch
Dear Sir, Thank you for this review, which reflects your overall satisfaction with your stay at Camping Château du Gandspette. We are delighted that you appreciated the quality of our facilities, the cleanliness of the entire site and the friendly atmosphere in our bar. We are particularly touched by your compliment regarding the warm welcome provided by our team. Our location, 30 minutes from Calais, does indeed make our campsite a popular stopover for travellers heading to the ferry. Whilst we cannot control everyone’s departure times, we do remain vigilant in ensuring that our rules regarding peace and quiet are respected, particularly during sensitive hours. Our campsite’s doors are always wide open to you, so please do come and see us again ! Camping Château du Gandspette team****

The site and the amenities. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy them very much as the weather was terrible!
We have eaten in the restaurant many times before during our stays with our touring caravan and have never had cause for complaint. But for that, based on this stay alone we would never eat there again. The food as always was very good but the service left much to be desired. On our first visit, the second and third desserts came 20 minutes after the first. On the second visit, my wife's choice of the fixed menu was simply missed altogether meaning that on both occasions at least one of us had to sit and watch the others eating while waiting for their meal to be served. No space for any detail
Reasonably spacious with decent equipment although looking a bit tired now. The shower head was loose and wouldn't stay in place.
We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon to find that there was no toilet roll provided despite the site toilets having their toilet paper supplied. There was also nothing provided to help with washing dishes. As it was a Sunday neither was there any shops open to allow us to buy these. The mobile home had a gas hob and a microwave, but no oven, much restricting what we could buy in the way of ready meals. There was a large glass dish but didn't fit in the microwave where the turntable didn't turn.

It’s a perfect spot, lovely pleasant staff, great pitches, excellent dog walks in the woods. We really love the restaurant & bar too
If I had to say something it would be to serve food a little later in the restaurant, 8.30 last reservation, but that’s only our opinion we like to eat late.
Pitches are good size

- The facilities are always kept immaculate, you can tell the owners take pride in what they do. - Close proximity to a supermarket (down the road - close proximity to the eperlecques forest (we really enjoyed a run directly from the campsite and round the smaller forest loop)
Nothing we could see
- Pitch + 1 campervan 2ppl - A large spacious pitch, with electric and water tap close by! - The toilet/shower facilities were kept immaculate Our 4th year staying at Chateau du Gandspette and once again it was fab. We didn’t use the restaurant on this occasion but we have during previous stays and has always been great service and reasonably priced! We always enjoy evening drinks at the bar, talking to other guests who are also repeat customers on the whole and all of whom spoke highly of the site and their experiences!
Dear Madam, What a pleasure it is to welcome you to our campsite for the fourth time ! We are delighted that our spacious pitches and the nearby Éperlecques Forest perfectly meet your expectations for your sporting activities. The lush, green setting of our grounds clearly offers you the ideal balance between nature and relaxation. Your compliments on the condition of our facilities and the warm atmosphere in our bar encourage us to continue our efforts. These shared moments are an integral part of the family spirit that characterises our campsite. We look forward to welcoming you for a fifth season in the Hauts-de-France region ! Clean campsite with good facilities. I'm sure it would make a great place to stay for even longer...
Open field, no electric. Good sized area with plenty of choice.

Lovely staff, Julian wonderful. Rules too ridged, clearly a more transient campsite then a holiday destination, could be improved if adjustments were made. I would have expected toilets and showers to be more upgraded, maybe heat lamps, not squares of toilet paper that fill the floor quickly making the facilities look dirty quickly, a fridge hire service, indoor comfortable family spaces for young kids and teenagers to draw or have couches. Feels a little money hungry over offering a warm welcoming feel. Not flexible, improve kids playground, add shade.
Pool needs umbrellas, some loose seals in pool steps, too packed with sunbeds, improve restaurant food and create extend restaurant to outdoor terrace with family size tables, toilet at restaurant needed. Toilets and showers should be communal, families need to shower together with dads or mums and currently forced to split up. No obvious large family shower and bathroom area for disabled without a step. And indoor kids area when went or not great weather in the barn would be amazing and a camp shop. Weekend entertainment just a local live French band. Better showers for taller men.
Open, large and peaceful, slightly slanted. But requests to be near facilities met and appreciated hugely. Really enjoyed. Thank you. :-)
Unable to order a meal to have on the terrace, hugely disappointed as unable to watch children or enjoy the evening sun, would upgrade tables and environment. Watched people defrost pizzas in microwave and add cheese which was sad after spending €60 on “takeaway” food. Plastic containers for ketchup quality of food over all poor, old salad added to food when paid for food in restaurant. Would hugely benefit from a camp shop with orange juice, milk, and more choices of exciting pastries in the morning. Would profit campsite. Ordering drinks for family unable to carry outside together.
Dear Madam, Our campsite has been designed to offer an exceptional natural setting where guests can come and recharge their batteries amidst lush greenery, just a stone’s throw from Saint-Omer and the Opal Coast. We provide everything you need to ensure everyone can make the most of their stay in the Hauts-de-France region: two swimming pools, one of which is heated; toilet facilities cleaned several times a day; a bar-restaurant; and a children’s playground. With 199 pitches, there’s plenty of space for everyone in this unspoilt park. We take note of your suggestions regarding the facilities. Some relate to structural choices specific to our four-star establishment, whilst others deserve our attention as we continue to develop our services. Your satisfaction remains our priority, and we strive every day to maintain a balance between authenticity and modern comfort. We hope you have had the chance to discover the treasures of our region, from the Éperlecques Blockhaus to the magnificent Blanc-Nez and Gris-Nez headlands. Camping Château du Gandspette team****

The site is set in a beautiful location. The toilet and wash facilities were very good. The food at the bar/restaurant was good too and very reasonably priced. Located nearby is the Le Blockhaus WW2 bunker, a must visit! The pools onsite were generally very good but see below……. Overall we would return.
When the pool got busy there was a mountain of crocs, flip flops and other footwear right at the entrance gate. Some sort of rack or storage area (similar to last site - Yelloh Village) would be a good idea. Perhaps some umbrellas around the pool would’ve been good too because although there was the odd area of shade provided by trees, as the sun moved it was hard to find cover. The restaurant would probably do well to open around lunch too rather than just 6:30-8:30pm.
Excellent size pitch with hook up.
