I should say that we booked for one night and ended up staying for two because a huge storm closed the roads and cut off the site and the electricity supply for over 24 hours. The staff at the site did everything they could to help us during this time; after the storm the sun shone and we could appreciate the amazing setting for the site. Croissants were excellent and the bar was friendly. We certainly intend to return, but hopefully no storms next time. Et on dit aussi choclatine :)
Apart from the weather and a better electricty supply? Nothing at all!

Alle Mitarbeiter waren äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Die Sanitäranlagen waren hervorragend. Die Kinder waren vom kleinen Spielplatz mit super Trampolin total begeistert.

Really helpful staff; astonishing location but if you are shy of walking then the wrong location for you. The pizzas are top as are the chips. Lovely bar and continuous brilliant river sounds. We will go back.
Some of the walking routes from the site are managed by a local farmer and makes for uncertainty. Limited shop.

Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié notre personnel (nous ne manquerons pas de leur signifier), les pizzas, les frites et l'ambiance de notre bar, ainsi que le son apaisant de la rivière. C'est toujours un plaisir de savoir que nos clients passent un bon moment au Bar'gas. Nous tenons à vous informer que l'aménagement est en cours de réparation pour le chemin de randonnée qui part du camping au village de Gavarnie. En effet, ce chemin possède actuellement une main courante qui s'est détachée. Cela oblige les marcheurs à parcourir 500 mètres sur le bas-côté de la route. Concernant notre "petite épicerie", nous allons élargir notre gamme de produits locaux, confiture, miel, biscuit... Nous espérons vous accueillir à nouveau très bientôt !

A lovely peaceful site with excellent facilities. Very friendly hosts. Delicious breakfast stuff to order. Good level, secluded pitches with stunning views of the mountains. Excellent walking from the campsite. A popular area for hangliding, with them landing in the field beside the campsite - fun to watch.
Nothing. However, be aware that there are few English tourists in this area, and most signs and information are only in French.

The location is great and the reception very efficient. We had a great pitch overlooking the river. The facilities are new and clean

Motorhome service facilities limited. The EHU tripped easily but was reset by staff without complaint.

Stephanie gave us a very warm welcome and was really helpful in sorting a pitch which our electric hook up could reach. Lovely pizza and fresh pain au chocolate ordered every day! Also thank you for free parking voucher to park in Gavarnie.

Lovely campsite with views of the mountains and a short walk to a gorge. Only a short drive to the famous cirque de Gavarnie.. We were greeted with a cheery smile and both the owner and staff were extremely helpful. All facilities seemed fairly new and were spotlessly clean. Highly recommended for a stay in the area.
We were allowed to choose our pitch as it was off season. Plenty of space with fantastic views of the mountains.

Beautiful clean, family run campsite. The staff were very helpful, great pizza - even when we asked for a vegan option Fries delivered to our pitch ?? Location fantastic- only 5 minutes to central Garvarnie
Toilet waste is a hole covered by a manhole cover no way of rinsing the cassette

Beautiful spot with stunning views of the Pyrenees. Shady and quiet with great walking nearby and a beautiful river running through the site - a long walk however to get to any shops restaurants. Nice pizza restaurant and bar on site though. Clean modern shower and toilet facilities. Reception only open for short periods, so its a case of finding a pitch and setting up and waiting until they arrive. ideal base to visit the Cirque de Garvanie.
If you want seclusion this is the site for you, stock up on food before you come if you are in a motorhome and don't want to drive back out along the very narrow and windy roads.
Flat pitch with electric provided. Adaptor needed for electric. Shady with river running close by.
