Spacious site, good separation between access routes and pitches

Large pitch, private space. Good planting and hedging. After initial poor reception was helped to pitch and had a more friendly response.
Initial reception a bit brusque and unfriendly. We are on holiday so first impression and initial contact is important. Pitch was very private, however late first evening around 10pm a member of staff with dog walked into and across our pitch (possibly as a shortcut?) having visited a relative in an adjacent pitch. This was while we were sat out after our meal. Very rude, unnecessary, and a little frightening. My first thought was a possible thief.

Lovely peaceful campsite the pool was lovely
Unfortunately we had an awful meal in the restaurant. The goats cheese salad consisted of lettuce tomato and a tiny piece of goats cheese no dressing no bread and twelve euros!

Over the last 2 years the restaurant has become a more basic snack bar with limited choice. When run by the lovely lady and her mother it was a restaurant
Change pitch as did not need furniture. Mistake on booking as always choose same pitch every year. The staff found us an alternative and provided excellent customer service

I had made a mistake on my booking, but staff soon resolved this
Good sized pitch, but placed away from other occupied pitches. Therefore we felt quite isolated and this gave the impression the site was empty. Excellent showers and toilets

Very helpful staff. Campervan pitch with electric supply was perfect and easy. The pitch was a short distance away from water, chemical toilet waste and waste drainage and easy to use and access.
Bar /restaurant needs more staff as we had to wait some time to get served drinks on a number of times as the restaurant took priority. The bar staff member was very friendly and helpful but he was alone and needed help.

The site is listed as 5 star..we had just left a 5 star site belong also to Les Castels and this one was totally inferior. Scruffy site, staff not particularly welcoming. Nearest loo block closed by propping old fence panels against it. Tall weeds everywhere. Shop with very few items, for instance, no coffee. Only tinned goods, empty shelves.
Pitch extremely small, could not get our car on it as well as the caravan.very overgrown. A scruffy shed in the corner.

The toilet block in question is only open in July and August and is therefore closed to the public at the moment. Accessability difficult, pitches too close and felt crowded. Restaurant is limited and very confused needs organisation. Checkin was difficult not enough space for vehicles arriving staff limited and struggling to deal with the number of arrivals

The site was nice, but tired, toilet blocks were generally clean, but are due a refurb. In my opinion
We had to wait an hour and a half to get onto our pitch, in the car in 32deg heat, whilst they ‘cleaned the pitch’ we had a premium pitch, which included a brick built shed with chairs, table, bbq, parasol and fridge, the only cleaning needed was the fridge and bbq, 1 1/2 hrs? Surely that could have been done as we erected our tent? The pool was lovely, clean but cold, couldn’t spend too long in, but plenty of loungers and chairs. There is also an indoor pool, but we didn’t use it. The 70€ deposit seemed distrustful! Restaurant took well over an hour for a burger and salad, not good enough.
Mature site and pitches, plenty of privacy, a little unloved, hedges could with a trim and the water tap was literally under the hedge and could only be reached on hands and knees, the stone shed looked nice and rustic from the outside, but with no windows a light inside would have been good.
We like and use the Castels network as the standards are very high, it is site network of choice for this reason, I’m sure a few years ago this site was 5 star, but I’m afraid I don’t see it now. That said, we enjoyed our holiday very much, it felt safe people were definitely enjoying themselves, there are a lot of self catering chalets and mobile homes, which I guess weren’t so reliant on the facilities, like we were campers.

The initial plot was poor, no privacy, no fridge, which I believed I had reserved, no 16amp connection, again which I had reserved. The plot was unkempt and uneven. The second plot was closer to what I believed I had reserved but I had to pay more

You chose to book a "Castel Suite" pitch, of 180 m² with private sanitary facilities. We do offer 3 types, two of which are equipped with refrigerators. We're sorry you didn't pay attention to these details at the time of booking. Our teams are there to help you and guide you. Indeed, we took the time to offer you a quick solution suited to your needs on site, which obviously pleased you. You mention a lack of privacy, and this surprises us, since the spacious natural setting is what's usually most appreciated at our campsite. Nevertheless, we will take your comments into account. We sincerely hope you enjoyed our many amenities and activities, such as the fishing pond or our aquatic area for relaxing moments as a couple. In the context of our Qualidog label: several new features have been added to our campsite, including the creation of a cani-park, a cani-shower and a doggie bar. We have taken note of your comments concerning the distance to the sanitary block. Please note that our campsite is very spacious, so that everyone can enjoy their own space and take advantage of our many activities. This may mean a short distance between pitches and sanitary blocks, but we are constantly working to improve our facilities for the comfort of our guests.
