Improve pitch size. Our pitch was supposed to be large but we were squeezed in with no defined borders, people walking through the pitch and washing hanging across a ‘supposed’ border. No privacy at all. Inadequate pitch for the size of our caravan and high cost of it. Inadequate room for parking for adjacent pitches meant cars parked on our pitch on arrival. Too noisy with far too many children running around and on bikes.
Convenience of toilet and shower right by the pitch.
Really disliked the site, felt very overcrowded and cramped. Unkempt borders/ grass too long. Not for us! Nothing like previous Castel sites we have stayed on. Very disappointing.

Nice location. The little building where the bbq was, was a surprise.
I was expecting to swim in the little lake. There I was misguided. The pool is to small for the camping site. In entrance of the pool is messy wirh all those slippers. 5 stars, ok but for every activity you had to pay extra. You had to pay for Wifi.

We found this site well situated a short cycle from the Loire. Our pitch was well sized with sun for part of the day. I did note many pitches were entirely shaded which would only have been beneficial in scorching weather. The showers were excellent, powerful with hot water. Washing up facilities were poor, there were only 4 sinks squashed into a tiny space with no room to move. The whole campsite had a tired feel and was in need of updating.
The pool needs area needs improving for the size of the campsite with better slides. The restaurant was very poor quality and the food awful. I would recommend avoiding.

For washing up, the campsite has three separate sink areas spread across the site. For swimming, our 1,000 m² outdoor water park includes slides, a 30 m² paddling pool and a 200 m² pool. Relaxed atmosphere of the site and the well portioned pitches with plenty of shade. Lots of facilities- pools, the bar, fishing lake, and kayaking lake. A well looked after site with polite, helpful staff.
Maybe a few more toilets and dish washing facilities. Sometimes a queue and the water wasn’t always hot for washing up. A more extensive shop on site. There aren’t any easily walkable shops so reliant on car. A freezer to freeze ice packs would be good.
Good mixture of shade & sun. Plenty of space. Easily accessible water. Some privacy because of the hedge.

Beautiful camping: green, nice atmosphere and sports pitches like soccer, tennis, table tennis and swimming.
Swimmingpool is closed at 19.30pm, that is too early in summertime.
Big garden, privacy and great view. Nice porch with big sliding doors to living. Nice shower, big fridge and modest freezer. Airconditioning, but we didn’t use it as our accommodation was in shade of trees. Quite new accomodation.
We like soft mattresses, but these were much too hard for us. A very thick topper would solve the problem. Very thin inner walls, like you stay in a tent.

A very pleasant site with easy access to many local places worth visiting and sufficient on-site activities to keep us busy on days when we didn't want to travel. The cost was very reasonable and, given the high quality of the site and welcoming staff, we would certainly consider returning again in future.
One thing that could be improved would be to have an on-site shop for the basics: bread, milk, eggs, bacon, an onion or two, that sort of thing. There was a daily bread/croissant ordering service which we used and worked well, but to have the ability to drop in and get a few things for a meal would be nice and save having to rush out to the local hypermarche for little things.
Perfect for our needs. The pitch was well suited for our caravan: easy access to power, water, waste-water facilities etc. The pitch had good shade and the amenities (toilet/shower/washing area) was always clean and pleasant.

Although we are a senior couple and were only there for three nights, we enjoyed the way that the site is laid out and walking around the lakes. We thought that we would have liked to visit with our children and grandchildren because of the many activities available
The food at the restaurant was good value but unfortunately, it wasn’t very good
Our pitch was a generous size and it was level.
Our particular pitch had a lot of trees around it which blocked out the sun throughout the day. If we had been staying longer, we would have asked if we could move to another pitch because we like to have some sun.

Misleading website.& indifferent staff
Le Bois de Badelet, nr Gien, just left this site after 4 nights, very disappointed, not a 5 star site as advertised 🙁 pitches uncut and messy, badly signposted, supposed to have individual water connection as paid for, no that was shared! To add insult, having paid fully on arrival we were phoned to say we owed them 80 centimes! Then they refused one of the coins and we had to go back again with 10cents, all because they calculated it wrong, it was clearly a joke to them, not an apology just sniggering, their phone call to me cost them more than 80 cents 🤣🫣🙄

We requested and paid for direct individual water connection on a luxury pitch only to find it was shared & our neighbours complained to reception that we had a hose connected to it. Your website is misleading regarding the water connection. If the pitches have shared water connections you should make it clear.

After checking, it turns out that the double connection had disappeared on your pitch, and we have just put it back in place. We're sorry that the receptionist who accompanied you to your pitch didn't notice. If this had been reported at the time, we could have rectified the situation immediately. Regarding the payment incident, we also apologize for this human error. We regret that this exchange did not meet your expectations. One of the most welcoming sites we have visited, without exception all of the team were always smiling and friendly, great service. Nice pitch near to the boating lake, we chose a sunny pitch, but there are many shaded pitches too.
Although close to the campsite, double check the coordinates for entering into the SatNav, the ones stated on the website take you up a blind end.
We chose to move from our booked pitch to a classic pitch as we wanted to be on a non shaded pitch.

Shower block is tired and generally facilities need investment. The biggest let down is the “restaurant” which could offer so much more than it does. Its little more than a pizza take-away offering. I expect more from “5*”. The staff are pleasant but this campsite is trading of its past glories.

The pitch was huge and flat.
Availability of certain food and beverages at lunchtime from the bar. Lack of suitable shop for a 5 star site. A 2 hour wait to be shown to our empty pitch. (Staff lunch break?)

We had a fantastic 3 night stay here. The pools and park were excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive and our pitch was very spacious. Wish we had stayed for longer!

Lovely campsite with lots of trees. Nice swimming pools and playground, great facilities and nice animation. Staff is very friendly.
Just some few suggestions: - big shoe rack at the swimming pools (especially outdoors) - would be nice to grow some trees along the play ground to provide some shade. - lock on the door of the baby washing room (handy when you have 2 toddlers to bathe...) - rack in the shower cubicle of the private sanitair to put shampoo/douchegel on (especially when you have toddlers who like to open bottles)

We loved the chalet we stayed in by the lake. It was very peaceful and we had lovely views of the sunsets over the two lakes. The swimming pools were great and the kids loved swimming every day and going on the water slides! There were also lots of other great activities which we tried, including pony riding, the mini disco and the games evening.
The chalet was perfect for our needs.
It would have been better if the windows in the bedrooms opened upwards so that we could have the windows open at night time, without fear of the kids climbing or falling out. We had to keep the bedroom windows closed because of this which meant that the nights were very hot and airless!
