Camping La Rivière

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Riviere so we knew what to expect. We hadn't stayed in peak season before so the site was busier than we expected but the toilet / shower blocks were enough to cope. Pitches have plenty of shade which was welcome in a heatwave! Campers were mostly French and Belgian. Bar is open until mid-evening and there is a basic snack menu - on two evenings, outside caterers are on site (one night - duck produce and the other night - galettes and crepes). Site manager went above and beyond to help us when there was a problem with our electric cable.

It would be nice if the bar stayed open a little later or just leaving the lights on on the patio so we could finish our scrabble game!

Campsite is well kept, well laid out and pitches are a good size. Staff are fantastic. Great location near to the village. Nice bar with snacks and basic provisions. Sanitary block clean with everything you need. This was our second visit and will definitely visit again.

Hem passat uns dies en aquest càmping i hem quedat molt satisfets. L'ubicació és excel·lent, envoltada de natura i en una zona ideal per visitar els principals atractius de la regió. El càmping ofereix tot el necessari per gaudir d'unes bones vacances: piscina, restaurant, camp de petanca, dos parcs infantils i accés al riu, que és un gran valor afegit. Un altre aspecte que ens ha agradat molt és l'ambient. Durant tota l'estada es respirava tranquil·litat i respecte entre els campistes, cosa que fa que l'experiència sigui molt agradable, especialment si es viatja amb nens.

A very warm welcome from this site on the edge of Les Eyzies. Direct access to green cycle route and 5 minute cycle to pretty village and excellent prehistory museum. Limited shopping so stock up. Camp site very well organised, excellent pool, sanitaires clean and well maintained, pitches shaded and clearly marked & delineated by mature hedges. We had a rather irritating neighbour who insisted on playing a very loud radio (in Dutch) but can’t blame the site for that. All in all a great site and good value.

Had an amazing time at La Riviere, the staff there are some of the sweetest, kindest people and they made the time spent at the campsite so much more enjoyable. The facilities are impeccable and incredibly well-maintained. The food and drink are perfect after a long hot day. I can easily highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay at Les Eyzies. My kindle was near dead and the staff provided a charging cable for it, saving the day!

Nicely laid out, with plenty of shade, adequate numbers of sanitary facilities and decent sized pitches (although ours was a bit small for the size of our motorhome, we were only there 3 nights so it was ok). Sanitary blocks modern and regularly cleaned. Impressed to see the staff tidying up thoroughly the morning after a quite heavy thunderstorm including clearing leaves from clients tents. Pool is clean and not too chlorinated, but the steps into it aren't great. Quiet overnight on our stay, and well located for many visits and activities.

Pool steps are not great, some slabs need levelling also and some storage racks for shoes would be a good idea. The bins are too close to pitches, and they smelled terrible.

Close to LesEyzies and many other interesting places to visit. Good shady pitches of generous size. Lovely pool and pleasant surroundings

The toilet blocks are small for the number of pitches. The showers and sinks have cold water. I asked reception if the water could be warmer but nothing happened. There is no security barrier on the site and nothing to stop intruders gaining access.

It was a charming very friendly campsite, very clean and lovely staff. Proximity to do activities was great, we enjoyed canoeing, the caves and the town was lovely.

Everything was immaculate and well maintained. Pool area is fantastic and pitches nice and shaded. Easy walk into Les Eyzies.

More sun umbrellas around the pool would have been welcome as it was extremely hot when we were there. Would’ve been nice to have the bar open in the evening

Super family run site, so helpful ,great facilities very clean hot showers, pool beautiful in it everyday, lovely shaded pitches it was very hot . Bar and restaurant supplied a wonderful lunch ...close to Le eyzies ,lots to do , also right on the voie verte cycle path.

The camping experience was extremely comfortable, which is why we extended our stay. The bar/restaurant, pool, and bike path along the river was a highlight for us. We wish we would’ve had time to play ping pong, but next time!

The setting is beautiful. The staff are wonderful and helpful. Great care is taken with the site and everyone who stays there.

The site is in a gorgeous setting and perfect for the greenway cycle ride. With just a short walk into the pretty village it’s in a fabulous location. The customer service was excellent and the food we ate from the snack bar was delicious.

Although the toilets are very clean it would be great to provide hand soap to was your hands after using the toilet.

Great location, excellent walks in the area for me and my dogs. The swimming pool area is absolutely beautiful, well manicured gardens and lovely laid out plots. A bonus are Agatha and Aguile the 2 donkeys which my dogs loved to watch.

Quiet place to stay for a couple of nights with van and tent

I love the atmosphere and location so much that I hope to return every Summer. The freedom to enjoy the lovely pool and outdoor bar and the walks along the Vezere and surrounding countryside are stunning. We didn’t have electricity and appreciated the freezer to cool our ice blocks to keep our food fresh and our drinks cool also our butter to go with the delicious croissants and pain au chocolat/raisin freshly ordered very morning. We hope to return next year with our family as the facilities are amazing for children and there are so many fascinating places to visit close by.

Sometimes toilets were locked and the toilet paper wouldn’t come out of the holder. When the weather was cooler the hot water was cooler first thing in the morning.
