Excellent site on the banks of the Loire and just a few minutes walk to the pretty village of Montsoreau and ideal location to explore the region. Good facilities and friendly staff.
Spacious pitch

We enjoyed this, our second stay at Camping L’Isle Verte, and will definitely return. The site is in an excellent position on the banks of the Loire with the Velo de Loire running past its doorstep. Perfect for cyclists to enjoy the local area with lots of choices of routes. We enjoyed using the swimming pool which had recently been refurbished. Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
We thought the site was looking a bit tired and unkempt. Our pitch was absolutely covered in a mountain of leaves which we had to sweep away to be able to pitch. The ladies toilets are awful, with a sickening smell of urine. We understand these are to be renovated so hopefully that will improve. Likewise with the showers, they are not very efficient.
Lovely position pitch overlooking the Loire with lots to see and watch.
We thought our pitch compared to other ‘Edge of the Loire’ pitches was a lot smaller, even though we assume we paid the same price. Pitch condition was not good being totally covered in a mountain of leaves.

We’re sorry that your pitch wasn’t as tidy as it should have been when you arrived. We have been fully booked throughout this period, with guests leaving and arriving every day, which can make it difficult to keep every pitch perfectly clear of fallen leaves between stays. Regarding the size, your pitch was actually over 100m². Our Loire-side pitches do vary in shape and layout, so some can appear smaller than others even when their surface area is similar. As you mentioned, our main sanitary block is showing its age and a complete renovation is planned for next season. We’re very much looking forward to this improvement too. Lovely site with large pitches and good facilities next to the river and a useful, small village. Nice pool for adults and good bar, restaurant if you want to stay on site. Very close to a number of caves and vineyards - though note some noise from vintners next door during harvest.

Right next to a wine processing plant which was noisy during day.

September is harvest time, so our neighbours at the winery are particularly busy at this time of year and there can occasionally be a little more activity and noise during the day. Friendly staff great location
Swimming pool had no hand rail to assist with entry and exit from the water so made it unsuitable for my wife to use which was a shame as the pool aera was excellent

Site is nicely located for visiting Montsoreau and Turquant on foot and is very popular with UK guests! Staff are friendly and the onsite restaurant/service is good. Sanitaires are clean/tidy with soap/paper, there is a washing up and laundry area and a separate main service point.
Some pitches are close together and the river front ones do get the bikes/walkers passing through. It is quite an expensive site, plus there is a €10 booking fee if booked in advance/online, which is expensive for a short stay! Enjoyed the surrounding area, but would probably not stay again.

We’re pleased that you enjoyed exploring Montsoreau and Turquant, as well as our restaurant, the cleanliness of the facilities and the welcome from our team. Regarding the €10 booking fee, this is a fixed administration fee and is clearly shown before the booking is confirmed. We understand that it can feel more significant for a short stay, but booking in advance guarantees that a pitch is reserved for you. We were actually fully booked throughout September, so advance booking was particularly useful during this period.

What fab location, easy to find, right next to a lovely little town, vineyards and cycle routes. Pool and bar area are both fabulous!
I would have said the toilet block is tired ands work however, that is planned for this winter and if't done to the standard of other areas then it will be excellent.
pitch was great, didn't realise there would be a fence and a path between us and the river but we still loved it.

Great location, good sized pitches. Good variety of accommodation options, nice pool area, small bar/restaurant. Great cycle routes and plenty to do in the area.
Riverside Grass pitch with electricity. Good size pitch, good views of river.
unfortunately we were there during extremely hot period so no grass at all on pitch. Water supply in awkward area back of pitches so had to go across opposite pitch.

Unfortunately, the extreme heat during your stay had a real impact on the grass, particularly on the riverside pitches. We hope you were still able to enjoy the lovely view over the Loire. Regarding the water supply, there is a water point located quite close to pitch 11, which can be accessed without crossing another guest's pitch. We're sorry if this wasn't clear during your stay – please don't hesitate to ask our reception team, who are always happy to show you the nearest facilities. Easy access to the cycle path allowing you to explore the local towns. The wine tasting event at the campsite. Swimming pool and trampoline were great for the kids. Good sized pitches. The fantastic boulangerie a short walk away.
