Domaine du Trappeur

Our third visit to Domaine du Trappeur and third type of accommodation. All have been excellent, original, clean and homely. Fantastic home made food, stunning views and a real “countryside” feel. Exceptional host, really welcoming, would definitely recommend.

Lovely chalet with a nice private garden and two swingchairs. Very Nice restaurant at the camp site, wonderfull view.

Our family of five had a wonderful stay in the yurt. The staff were extremely welcoming and the facilities were well looked after. It was extremely hot, so a walk through the trees to swim in the lake was welcome.

There was an issue with our shower but it was fixed the same day.

Position of the campsite with a fabulous view. Activities available.

Flies are a real pest. A ball pit for pre-schoolers would be good rather than the present arrangement.

Heel vriendelijke mensen spreken verschillende talen waaronder Nederlands want het voor ons heel aangenaam maakte. Zeer mooie omgeving veel groen, leuke wandelpaden die starten op de camping. Zeer propere sanitaire blok en veel camping pitches. Het eten was ook echt top!

Voor ons was het niet heel duidelijk waar we ons moesten inchecken en waar alle faciliteiten waren. Waar drinkbaar water of waar chemisch toilet leegmaken. Is wel aangeduid maar hier hebben we overgekeken. Misschien handig te vermelden bij aankomst.

This was the second time that we stayed at Domaine du Trappeur campsite. Everything about this place is great. The owners, Celine & Gijs and all their staff are so friendly and helpful and always make us feel very welcome. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere across the entire site. All the facilities are of a very high standard and managed brilliantly. St Sorlin d'Arves is a great place with easy access to the surrounding mountain area.It has lovely restaurants, shops & a swimming lake, all easily accessible from the camping site. Myself and my children love this place

Just beauiful

The food and location are excellent

The showers and toilet block were locked throughout our stay. We were in a room with no toilet or shower facilities so this was not good. We did mention it but were told that we just needed to shove the door as it sticks. No, they were definitely locked. A quick check and the staff would have realised they were locked and that would have taken them less than a minute to totally change our experience.

Soap for washing hands in the lavatories

Cow bells, alpine breezes, croissent at ur doorstep. An exemplary location, camping, views with great and clean facilities, and a great restaurant on location.

Have cycled past this site many times and never give it a thought about staying so close to the top of the climb. But this time I returned to mob the area, best decision made.

TBH I can't think of anything, it was perfect for me.

The campsite is in my opinion very difficult to reach for drivers with a caravan of motorhome who have any expertise driving in the Mountains. We took the road from St Jean de maurienne startend on 600 meters the campsite lies on 1763 meters Downhill is really a challenge if you love your Brakes. A the bottom mine were bloody hot yelling and smoking. They told us reaching the site via Bourg d Ossian is even meander.

Le calme et l’accueil chaleureux

De camping heeft een prachtige ligging langs de route naar de Col de la Croix de Fer. De terrassen zijn mooi vlak, het terrein is vrij open met hier en daar wat bomen voor schaduw. Het sanitair is modern en heel erg schoon. In het restaurant kun je uitstekend eten voor een zeer vriendelijke prijs.

De afgelegen ligging is zowel een voordeel als een nadeel. De rust is een voordeel, maar het is minstens een half uur rijden naar de doorgaande weg en grotere winkels. Voor dagelijkse boodschappen kun je in het dorp terecht bij 2 winkeltjes waarvan er 1 gesloten is buiten het zomerseizoen.
