The site is a mixture of chalets, smaller mobile homes, and pitches for camper vans or caravans and finally tents. The site has a very nice swimming pool, with sun-beds and umbrellas. There are children’s play area and room, and sports area. There is a bar and small shop on site. What we liked was that the restaurants and bars are only a few minutes walk away in the town and Quayside. The site is right next to the sea but there is no beach here that you can swim from, it’s too rocky and shallow, the tides are very big here.
Cycle hire? EV charging points? Although, we don’t have an EV, yet and my wife doesn’t cycle. Secure gated access to foot path overlooking the sea? It is a shame the beach is not suitable for swimming, but I know that is beyond your control.
We don’t do camping, we normally stay in serviced apartments. Here they have some nice modern chalet type accommodation. We like these because they have bathrooms, WCs and equipped kitchens, no dishwasher or oven, but a multi function microwave.
No really, we have booked again for next month!

Regarding the seafront access, there is intentionally no direct gate on the sea side of the campsite. Having a single entrance and exit helps us provide a safer environment for all our guests, especially families with children. Location of site great for local town on the doorstep. Good pool to have a dip and cool off on a hot day. Clean facilities.
Lots of pigeon noise from early hours, and a number of incidents of their droppings on towels, chairs, awning, car etc. Many trees around pitches which is great for some shade on hot days- it’s not the sites fault, but really pigeons need controlling everywhere !
Nice sized pitch, though most of the pitches were quite small for a 7m cvan we were lucky to get a slightly bigger one. I think reception considered this when we were allocated it, but there was very little other choice.
It’s very tight driving around the site when hitched up, so you have to be very careful

We must also apologise on behalf of the local pigeon committee, who clearly didn't get the memo about respecting our guests' towels, chairs and awnings! Unfortunately, while we can manage pitches and facilities, the resident pigeons seem determined to remain fiercely independent. ;) :) We're pleased that our team was able to find you one of the more spacious pitches for your van, and we appreciate your comments regarding manoeuvring around the site. Excellent site, we don't do a lot of campsites possible to have a particular pitch which they allocated to us. It has a nice heated pool which was little used when we were there so it was possible to actually swim. Excellent site.
Some actual turn on water taps rather than the push type. Water pressure is also a bit low on some water stations.

This is a great little site in the lovely seaside town of St Vaast La Hougue. A convenient first/last stop if you are using Cherbourg ferry. Lovely harbour town with good restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff!

This time we stayed for a total of 4 nights. The first night we stayed in the Aire attached to the campsite and the following nights we were on the proper site. The site is clean, well maintained with friendly staff and good clean facilities.
Cannot think of any improvements that could be made.
We liked our pitch which was large enough for our camper. We had water, waste and electricity all on site.
There was nothing we disliked.

The campsite is in an excellent location close to the centre of SVLH and with walking/cycle routes nearby. It is a very well maintained site with large pitches and good facilities

Keep the small snack bar open until mid September level off some of the uneven pitches so large puddles don't form after rain There had been a lot of rain prior to our arrival and we found large puddles had formed in the centre of our pitch due to uneven ground also noticed other pitches had same problem

We have been visiting for many years now, due to the campsite's ideal location. It is on the coast, is quiet and yet just a walk away from town with the harbour, shops and cafes. The campsite itself has a playground, clean facilities, swimming pool and bar/restaurant.
When I left, I saw a sign on reception about ordering bread and breakfast for the following day. Had I seen this when I arrived (it was not there) we would have ordered every day.

Very convenient for the town and walks to the peninsular/hogue. Good facilities and very friendly staff. Nice pool and basic family friendly bar serving snacks in the evening. Showers and toilets very clean and adequate number to provide for all.

Our pitch -128- was a bit small for our size of vehicle, required much maneuvering and was well worn, while plenty of other better pitches were available. Would have asked for a move but by the time we had negotiated a 15 point turn to get in position we didn't bother for our 3 night stay.

Constantly upgrading and making sure the campsite is in top condition, all facilities are clean and modern with the bonus of a great pool. Location is ideal if arriving/departing from Cherbourg (30 mins drive) with lots to do and see in Saint Vaast whether walking or cycling. Reception staff are very helpful

1. There is no tap which can take a hose so we had to fill our on-board water tank using water bags. 2. Some pitches are really small 3. Hot water supply to showers and wash basins intermittent 4. High season prices start earlier than the rest of France

However, we’d like to clarify a few points to avoid any misunderstanding for future guests: We provide a dedicated service area for motorhomes, where you can fill up with water and empty waste tanks free of charge. Our pitches range from 80 to 100 m², which is perfectly in line with 4-star campsite standards and offers comfortable space for guests. Regarding hot water, we were quite surprised by your comment. One of our sanitary facilities has recently been renovated and is equipped with a brand-new boiler, providing consistent and comfortable water temperature. You are the first to report such an issue since it opened. Lastly, about our prices: June is considered mid-season, not high season, but not low season either, as it is also the case for many coastal campsites in the region. Vous êtes le premier à signaler un souci depuis leur mise en service. Enfin, au sujet des tarifs : nous appliquons en juin des prix de moyenne saison, comme indiqué sur notre site. Ensure dog owners keep dogs on leads and under control. A wandering dog deposited on our pitch and the owner denied all knowledge, enforcing the site cleaner to clear it up. Very unfair on the hard-working staff.
