Wir hatten ein neues Mobilhome ,es war sehr sauber,leider ohne Spülmaschine.Aber das wussten wir bereits vor der Buchung. Die Lage ist perfekt,direkt am Meer und mitten im Ort.Wunderbar zum Radfahren.
Leider wenig Privatsphäre,da die Mobilhomes sehr eng aneinander stehen und man jedes Geräusch der Nachbarn hört.
Neues Mobilhome,leider keine Spülmaschine. Sauberkeit war top.

Needs to have a tap and hose by toilet cassette emptying point. Would be nice/hygienic to have soap dispenser near sink in toilet block.

Regarding the cassette emptying point, the cleaning shower and hose have now been repaired, as they had unfortunately been broken by a camper. First time camping abroad, we had a fantastic stay. Not too far from the port, the camping site is clean, friendly, a great base for exploring. Just the right amount of activities for the kids to do. Would recommend and overall a fantastic stay and holiday. Camped on a pitch, 2 adults, 2 children and a baby.

We stayed for 3 nights in our campervan as we made our way back to Cherbourg. The pitch was large enough for our needs and the facilities (showers, toilets, pool, bar) were excellent. The staff were always helpful and visible around the site. This year's change to number plate recognition entry and exit was a great idea. Monday night's oysters and sing-along is brilliant and great value. This campsite is an excellent stop-over before the ferry, and Saint Vaast is a beautiful village and port.
We have had the same pitch for three years now and no complaints. They have added a new, closer, electrical point which helped a great deal. Easy entry and exit to the pitch and close to the on-site facilities.

This campsite is a great location to the town. The campsite is very well maintained and the caravan was well equipped.
The layout of the accommodation was nice. Spacious living area.
The bed was extremely firm and was uncomfortable to sleep on.

As for the water pressure at the water filling area, when this happens, it is often because the filling hose has become twisted or has not been put back correctly after use, which can reduce the water flow. Unfortunately, this sometimes occurs when the hose is not handled properly during motorhome or caravan water filling, and over time it can affect its performance. Please don't hesitate to let us know during your stay if you notice this. We are always happy to check it straight away and restore the normal water pressure. We hope to welcome you back to Camping La Gallouette again soon !

The site is a mixture of chalets, smaller mobile homes, and pitches for camper vans or caravans and finally tents. The site has a very nice swimming pool, with sun-beds and umbrellas. There are children’s play area and room, and sports area. There is a bar and small shop on site. What we liked was that the restaurants and bars are only a few minutes walk away in the town and Quayside. The site is right next to the sea but there is no beach here that you can swim from, it’s too rocky and shallow, the tides are very big here.
Cycle hire? EV charging points? Although, we don’t have an EV, yet and my wife doesn’t cycle. Secure gated access to foot path overlooking the sea? It is a shame the beach is not suitable for swimming, but I know that is beyond your control.
We don’t do camping, we normally stay in serviced apartments. Here they have some nice modern chalet type accommodation. We like these because they have bathrooms, WCs and equipped kitchens, no dishwasher or oven, but a multi function microwave.
No really, we have booked again for next month!

Next time, if you're looking for even more comfort, we highly recommend trying one of our Premium HORIZON mobile homes. They are fully equipped, offer premium amenities, and feature an extra-large terrace with a breathtaking sea view – the perfect way to enjoy the exceptional setting of our campsite. Regarding the seafront access, there is intentionally no direct gate on the sea side of the campsite. Having a single entrance and exit helps us provide a safer environment for all our guests, especially families with children. For swimming, the nearest sandy beach is about a 10-minute walk away, via the Fort de la Hougue side of the campsite. Thank you again for your kind comments and your valuable suggestions. Location of site great for local town on the doorstep. Good pool to have a dip and cool off on a hot day. Clean facilities.
Lots of pigeon noise from early hours, and a number of incidents of their droppings on towels, chairs, awning, car etc. Many trees around pitches which is great for some shade on hot days- it’s not the sites fault, but really pigeons need controlling everywhere !
Nice sized pitch, though most of the pitches were quite small for a 7m cvan we were lucky to get a slightly bigger one. I think reception considered this when we were allocated it, but there was very little other choice.
It’s very tight driving around the site when hitched up, so you have to be very careful

We must also apologise on behalf of the local pigeon committee, who clearly didn't get the memo about respecting our guests' towels, chairs and awnings! Unfortunately, while we can manage pitches and facilities, the resident pigeons seem determined to remain fiercely independent. ;) :) We're pleased that our team was able to find you one of the more spacious pitches for your van, and we appreciate your comments regarding manoeuvring around the site. We'll keep doing our best to make everyone's stay as comfortable as possible... and we'll continue negotiations with the pigeons !

Excellent site, we don't do a lot of campsites possible to have a particular pitch which they allocated to us. It has a nice heated pool which was little used when we were there so it was possible to actually swim. Excellent site.
Some actual turn on water taps rather than the push type. Water pressure is also a bit low on some water stations.

This is a great little site in the lovely seaside town of St Vaast La Hougue. A convenient first/last stop if you are using Cherbourg ferry. Lovely harbour town with good restaurants. Very friendly and helpful staff!

This time we stayed for a total of 4 nights. The first night we stayed in the Aire attached to the campsite and the following nights we were on the proper site. The site is clean, well maintained with friendly staff and good clean facilities.
Cannot think of any improvements that could be made.
We liked our pitch which was large enough for our camper. We had water, waste and electricity all on site.
There was nothing we disliked.

C’est pourquoi nous sommes un peu surpris par la note de 6/10 en confort et 6/10 en propreté, alors que votre commentaire ne mentionne aucune amélioration à apporter ni point négatif. The campsite is in an excellent location close to the centre of SVLH and with walking/cycle routes nearby. It is a very well maintained site with large pitches and good facilities
