Camping Le Deffay

Lovely ambience, well run site, way better than UK reviews suggest.

We liked the situation of the site and the huge pitches under oak trees. Toilets and showers clean and comfortable. If you like fishing it’s available on site.

Not really much going on in the area.

Lovely site, no complaints about it. My biggest problem was there was no one at reception on the Sunday we arrived. It took over an hour, and only with the help of a good Samaritan who managed to contact the owner on our behalf were we able to gain access to the camper site. We had paid in full prior to arrival. We had received an email on the previous Friday which was to have a code for access, but they never inserted the code. The lack of communication to emails and phone was most unsatisfactory and stressful.

Lovely grounds and lake with large pitch.

Toilet and shower block totally let's this site down. Total refurbishment required.

Landscaping, large pitches nicely shaded.

Wash block very poorly maintained. Only 3 gents toilet cubicles. One had door lick broken. One had paper dispenser unusable. Not very clean. Shower drains were blocked leaving about 2 cm of dirty water flooding the cubicles. Went to est on the Friday night but told only food was moules frites

Nice big pitch right next to the lake. Opening times of restaurant differed from website to real life but BBQ night was good. Nice wine. Pleasant staff.

Shower block very dated, men’s toilets there was only one cubicle with both a lock and a toilet seat.

None that I can think of

Spacious and peaceful site with a pretty lake and a swimming pool. Pitches are large and various shade levels available.

On arrival we were told to pitch anywhere but had no map to see where our pitch-types were located. Reception was supposed to be open on the Sunday we arrived but after our initial contact did not see any staff for help. The bar, restaurant, main toilet blocks and dish washing facilities were either closed or locked. We had no code to enter or leave the site so after our planned one night stay left by the entrance on which the barrier was left open for the duration of our stay.

We had a fantastic stay at camping deffay, check in was supper easy with receptionists speaking perfect English self allocation pitched was also good as we had plenty of choice on this large site

Was great to have staff all speak English and have English signage around the site assist non French speaking residents. The (restaurant) was the biggest let Down of the campsite as it lacked any comfort and felt abit unloved Menu was in French only (making it hard for non French speaking persons to see what was on offer) We managed to order steak and chips for us adults and nuggets and chips for the children When we received our child sized steak and chips we was informed there was no nuggets left for the children so we had to order them a pizza and wait for it again

Unfortunately very little to like. Booked for 4 nights, stayed only 1

Showers, 1st no shower head, 2nd no lock on door, 3rd cold water. No food available restaurant, takeaway, food vans, and bar all closed. Very few on site so assume word has got round. Would not book again, very disappointing.

Mobilier du mobilom reste à désirer chaises cassés, pas de poignée à la fenêtre d une chambre, poignet d une porte nous ai rester dans la main et la douche souvent froide et les toilette qui s evacue tres mal et pas de poubelle au parc dédié aux chiens Nous avons passer un bon séjour malgré ça

Agréable surprise pour ce camping. Cadre très agréable, familial et calme. Le mobil home en face du lac donne un aspect reposant. La piscine et le restaurant sont un réel plus. Proximité du château du Deffay très pratique pour les évènements.

Camping agréable bien entretenu, très grand. Accueil agréable mais sans plus. Bar par contre assez peu convivial.

Un compromis entre la piscine trop profonde pour les enfants et la pataugeoire trop petite. Min fils de 8 ans n'avait pas pied dans la grande piscine.

Mooie grote plek en rustige camping

Beautiful location. Nice pool, restaurant and bar. Friendly staff. The lake is peaceful and u can use the boats. Bike rides in the area which is very quiet Half an hour from Nantes. Ended up staying three nights instead of one. Wish I had stayed longer as the next campsite I stayed at was a bit of a dump!
