Loved the location. Chilled out vibe. Shady pitches.
Food wasn’t great in restaurant. When it rained, pitch turned into a bit of a mud bath. If site is full, bigger swimming pool would be beneficial.

Very shady. Very dusty so when it rains it turns quite muddy.

We were 3 families with kids aged 8-13. They brought bikes and campsite size was ideal for them to have freedom and make friends. The pool is small and can get busy but again safe and ideal for the kids and being able to watch them . The town of Saumar is a 10 min walk which is great . Staff were very friendly.
We have been to lots of different campsites in France and I would say that this campsite could do with more general maintenance. The sanitaires need a bit updating and there are not enough toilets . It’s also the first site where there are no toilet seats on most of the toilets. They also need cleaning a bit for frequently. Having said that they were adequate . The restaurant was not great and their pizza oven was broken when we were there but other than a drink we were quite happy having bbq’s on our pitch.
Our pitch was a great size for our trailer tent and awning with space to park car on as well. It was lovely and shady and each plot offers privacy with bushes and trees

From arrival to departure the service was excellent everything clean and the staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable

Nice sized pitch (13) but noise from under a drain ? Cover all the time sounding like a generator.

The lovely view of the castle from the island and the peaceful nature of the campsite draw us back again and again.
We liked the position of our accommodation and the large terrace. The double bed was a good size and very comfortable. There was everything we needed.

Good position by the town on the Loire
Maintenance to washrooms desperately needed! Broken or very poor showers, that only last a second when pressed
We had to move pitch as the chalet accommodation interspersed with touring led to exceptionally loud groups at night. Large groups of men all around us until after midnight. Out of season the touring was all couples who clearly wanted quiet! We moved to the other end of the site for some better sleep.

A great site for getting into Saumur easily. Very well laid out pitches, brilliant swimming pool with a lovely view of the Chateau across the river. Enjoyed the bar, didn’t eat there so can’t comment but I would think it’s good.

The area is stunning especially the Chateau and even more so when it was lit up at night. I also liked the swimming pool. A lovely facility although rather busy.
I disliked having to wait until 2pm for entry in spite of registering in the morning at 11.30am. Toilets and showers could have been cleaner.
Trees over my pitch protected us from the worst of the heat .
