Camping du Vivier aux Carpes

We've been returning to this campsite for the past 24 years. It's well located in beautiful village with a good shop within walking distance. It's close to the motorway about 2 hours driving time from the Calais ferry port and Eurotunnel. The camping placements are well cared for. The kitchen, washing and shower facilities are excellent, and there's a great communal games room. We've watched this site develop over the years, and now there's a great restaurant/bar and a covered swimming pool. If there's time, it's worth staying for a few days to visit the local historical sites.

Understandably, the pool and restaurant weren't open when we arrived in early April, as it was early in the camping season and still quite cool and quiet. But this made it a very peaceful stop-over, which was very pleasant.

Owners were very welcoming. Lovely sized pitch nice and quiet..

Environment

Had a great welcome from the reception and the only downside was the restaurant was shut. However there was a small convenience store around the corner and supplies and wine were bought

The entrance is not that well marked

Stayed for 1 night on way back to Calais. A lovely neat campsite with great pool and a bar! Very quiet which was great.

Clean toilets, very friendly staff. Due to the season coming to a close the restaurant was not open

Peaceful, clean site

Large, powered plot with easy access. Friendly reception / clean facilities. Restaurant was closed during our stay, but pleasant bistro 10 mins walk away in village. Bread van visits in morning.

The lady went above and beyond when we had a problem with our caravan. She was so kind. We had to stay another 2 nights whilst we waited for the problem to be rectified. She was so helpful. The site and facilities were also good.

Good sized pitch. Reasonable toilets and showers. Nice reception staff. A bar we didn’t use along side a pool. Will stay again if in the area.

In a nice village, can fish from our pitch. Good cycle routes to St Quentin along canal, as well as through the countryside. Excellent showers.

We used this campsite last year for an overnight stay when travelling to the alps. We thought it was a lovely site and so decided to revisit this year for a longer stay. Just a couple of hours drive from Calais means it is easily reached from home (Derbyshire) in a day. The site is well maintained and the showers and toilet block are very clean. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome, we were even given a choice of pitch. We had a lovely week relaxing and enjoyed using the pool on site bar and restaurant.

Another stay at this lovely friendly site had a great cycle into city along the canal path. Possible the best showers of any campsite we have visited.

Small friendly good pitches & next to a lake plus a canal round the corner. Facilities clean and well looked after. Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Barriers so entry controlled.

Path and bridges around lake need some tending.

A lovely warm welcome from the lady on reception and a nice sized pitch. The pool was really nice - modern, clean and warm. Toilet and shower facilities were adequate, plenty of hot water and clean but would benefit from further modernisation.
