Camping de Thoissey - Val de Saône

A relaxed stay surrounded by lush greenery. The pitch plots were generous and the camping community were very respectful. Toilet and shower facilities were good and well maintained. A lovely stay. Thank you!

Location, pitch size atmosphere

More bins as campsite is large

It was a pleasant site but just a bit shabby needs a good tidy up and may be the night lights need changing to bright people where nice just needs an up grade

It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing.

The showers serving plot 55 would be improved with a few more hooks on which to hang clothes whilst showering.

I stayed for night, the toilets/showers where very clean. And the staff where very helpful, and bilingual.

Stayed two nights on two dates in August, nice bar by the river and a restaurant terrace above the pool complex.

The restaurant meal was average on the first stay but was much improved on the second.

Excellent camping with good facilities

The bivouac on stilts was fantastic. We booked it due to an approaching thunderstorm and it was warm and dry. .loved the bread delivery in the morning. Toilets and showers clean. A nice bar nearby.

The hatch door at the top of the ladder did not secure properly and slammed twice. Luckily we weren't injured. I told the manager, just to let her know, and she said it hadn't happened before . That may be the case but it was a bit scary and it needs a better way of keeping it open.

It was nice and quiet

The site is situated right on the River Saone, with great views. The village of Thoissey is nearby and has a nice patisserie/ bakery and a couple of restaurants and a small Casino supermarket. There is also a Super U supermarket in the next village, with a petrol station. It was disappointing to find the pool closed up and the whole site seemed a bit unkempt, with mud and long grass around the pitches. There was no hot water for dishwashing or in the sinks, although the showers were clean and hot.

The service was very friendly especially the young lad running the bar. Great location on the river.

Ik vond de wc plaats erg vies, oud en om de zoveel minuten gaat het ligt uit. Dus dat is top als je met je kinderen ‘s avonds onder de douche staat. Dat is natuurlijk hartstikke eng en dan maar hopen dat er snel iemand komt die het licht aan doet, want die zat voor het gebouw. Er was ook niemand die dat even had verteld.

Duidelijkere communicatie over kosten van de plaats Ik had een overnachting geboekt voor een caravan en betaald. Ik kon geen keuze maken in online aan te geven wat voor caravan ik heb. Daar aangekomen gaven ze aan dat een dubbel as caravan die niet eens groter is dan de grootste enkel as 40 euro moest bij betalen op de reeds 58 euro die al betaald was. Bijna 100 euro voor een 3 sterrencamping waar het vuil nog op de plaats lag vindt ik ronduit belachelijk Maar je staat er en zal iets moeten, ben benieuwd wat hier nog aan gedaan kan worden.

Een vreselijk vieze geur in het toilet gebouw. Toiletten en douches wel school, maar kan nog wel een extra grote schoonmaak gebruiken.
