Evaluations that are not older than three years and have undergone a verification process. More infoWe used this campsite as a stopover on our way to and from Brittany in early September. Everything was spotless, and there were plenty of amenities. We had trouble with our caravan mover and couldn't manage to maneuver the caravan into position manually, but the owner kindly helped us out using his quad bike. We highly recommend this campsite. From the site, you can take a lovely walk to the village, passing by the ponds and a magnificent 12-meter-high historic wall.

Stayed for 2 nights straight from Caen ferry. Lovely smaller site with very friendly owners who also cook some lovely meals at the bar/restaurant. Pitches are medium size and option for water on the pitch is available.
Proper drainage points on a pitch that has water. We were on 93 and it c did not have drainage to an underground pipe.
Large enough pitch with water and electricity included. Loved the whiskies on offer.
Slight slope and no water drainage. Would prefer toilets with seats but not a big issue.

Regarding the direct wastewater and water hookups on the pitch: you would have needed to choose a "Premium" pitch rather than a "Comfort" one. You should have asked me—I had some available, though not at the ACSI rate. As for the toilet seats, that was a hygiene-related decision; disinfecting the mounting points is difficult, so we chose not to install them. We look forward to seeing you and your friends again! Really enjoyed our one night stopover at Le Lac des Charmilles. Facilities are very good and spotlessly clean. We took a break from cooking and had a very pleasant dinner in the snack bar. Would stay again.

A nice pitch but just long enough for an 8m motorhome
The cherry tree at Pitch 88 needs trimming back to stop the branches catching on aerial and solar panel and then tapping in the wind. Fresh water taps and electric posts hard to spot
Hello, and thank you for this lovely review. Regarding the tree pruning, that will be done in winter when the sap is no longer rising. As for the water points, they are actually clearly visible along the paths—there is one right across from pitch 88. Having our own shower,/toilet and kitchen was definitely worth the money.. All the public areas very clean and tidy. Pool fantastic. Bar menu excellent and not expensive. Highly recommended. So close to lovely town with shops,market and restaurants 15 minute walk
Bar area open in morning for coffee and pastries, or maybe just a good coffee machine.

We liked the nearby village and the peacefulness of the site. Paid extra for private facilities which was fantastic.
Our pitch was on a very noticeable slope which made our Motorhome uncomfortable.

Do you not have wheel chocks to level your motorhome? Lovely clean site which is only an hour from Cherbourg. Beautiful surroundings and lovely warm pool. Short walk round the lake into the town. Staff friendly, food and drink good. Will stay again on our return trip home.

Third time visiting this campsite and just as enjoyable . Great facilities , spacious pitches and welcoming hosts. Close to ferries in Cherbourg as well as a host of sights to see . Will definitely be back.

Nice camping. Friendly welcome. Good food in the restaurant. Swimming pool is ok, a bit small for the amount of people on the camping
More shadow, plants are very little. More showers and toilets, there are not enough showers and toilets for the amount of people on the camping. Maybe a bigger swimming pool and adding a slide.

Regarding the shade: we opened an extension to the campsite—since shaded pitches are often booked up weeks or months in advance—to meet the huge demand in the area during that period. These pitches are new, but once the vegetation has had time to grow, there will be more shade and privacy. We agree with you about the sanitary facilities, which is why we plan to build a new washroom block in the extension area this winter. However, there are no plans for work on the pool; aside from the first two weeks of August, its usage matches the campsite's occupancy levels, and we also aim to cater to the majority of our guests who are looking for a quiet camping experience. Bar, Food and service where good. Pool was small and busy for such a large site. Sanitary block is far to small for a site of this size. Only site I was really disappointed with this year.

Pitch was awful, nothing like pictures. No trees and very small hedge. Dusty gravel with no grass. Felt like staying on a building site.

Despite late arrival we were still very friendly received. The whole team was extremely friendly and helpful. The place has just been charmingly expanded and alpacas were grazing on the meadow next to the square. We felt comfortable and gladly recommend the place!

We enjoyed staying here last year, it's an ideal site for a few days at the end of our long holiday, not a long drive up to Dieppe. This year new owners have taken over and changed everything, such lovely people. The restaurant is greatly improved and the team is so obliging and professional. Our pitch had a mixture of sun and shade, exactly what we wanted. The site is a short walk from the village, with nice restaurants, particularly Le Champetre. We enjoyed gentle evening walks around the ponds which border the campsite.
Perfect sanitary block with a spacious shower, kitchenette with fridge and storage space, was one of the nicest we've found. Practical and immaculately clean.

Relaxing campsite. Good sized pitches some shaded. Sanitary block spotless. Situated on the edge of a town with small fishing lakes. Staff helpful and attentive. Only 75km to Caen. Highly recommend. We will be back soon.
Wish caravans were allowed into the Aire for winter travel.

294 we were at the campsite last year and were very happy with our stay, we used the site to explore and see normandy. The area is large, and has a lot of history, much more than you can see on a summer holiday. therefore the choice of campsite for this year's summer holiday was not difficult. The place is nice and well-maintained and is run by an incredibly nice couple who are always ready to help you- and you feel really welcome.
the bathroom is ok but it canbe difficult to adjust the water temperature.
